1955 Chevy
This nice 55 Chevy came to our shop for completion. It had a lot of great parts that came with it that needed to be installed and required a little disassembly before we could put it back together correctly. Here Thomas has pulled the engine and is getting it ready to go on a stand. The engine is a brand new 388 cu.in. small block, fresh off the dyno with 612hp at the crank. The transmission is a fresh 700R4 with 3000 stall convertor.
The car is also equipped with a Curry 9inch Ford style rear with a limited slip and 4.11.1 gears. We are starting with a new engine mount system and crossmember, getting the engine secure and where it belongs before getting all the support systems connected. We are supplying the correct cooling, fuel, electrical, and and traction systems to make the car work correctly, and the customer gets all the performance he paid for from that engine.
I had to modify the covers for a PCV grommet and baffle on passenger side. I added an oil fill plug on the front of the driver side, and a breather vent tube that will go to a vented catch can on the firewall.
